foto monhanã

The Cóndor Blanco's headquarters in Chile are an ecological reserve, located in the “IX Región de la Araucanía”, in the Village of Curarrehue, specifically in the 16th km of the Curarrehue – Argentina International Way. This region is very rich in natural resources. Its rise in international tourism is due to its natural beauty – volcanoes, ancient forest, mountains, lakes, rivers – and the variety of activities that can be done – fishing, trecking, ski, hot spring baths, and others.

The closest city to Cóndor Blanco is Pucón. It is from there that our staff receives and transports our visitors to the Eco-Tourism Complex.

Options to get to Pucón:

Pucón is 426 miles (789 km) south from Santiago and 60 miles (112 km) away from Temuco, the regional capital. You can get to Pucón by air or land.

By land: From the main cities of Chile (like Santiago), buses are available to Pucón. There are many enterprises that offer this service, such as: Tur Bus, Buses Jac, Pullman Bus.

By air: From the International Airport of Santiago (“Aeropuerto Arturo Merino Benítez”), it is possible to take a flight to closer airports. You can take a flight to Temuco or directly to Pucón. The Pucón’s airport, however, functions only during high tourism seasons and some holidays. If you take a flight to Temuco, there are transportation companies that will take you to Pucón, by van.

Our Reserve

foto montaña

Cóndor Blanco is an Eco-Tourism Complex of 300 acres of extension, located near the Andes Mountains Range. We protect the fauna, flora and ecosystems which inhabit many wild life, including endangered species, such as the Andean Condor, Peregrine Falcon, Woodpecker and Eagle. There are also wild cats, pumas, foxes and other local animals. The trees that dominate the forest in the reserve are nothofagus obliqua (Oak), nothofagus alpina (Raulí) and nothofagus dombeyi (Coigüe). The forest has been in recovery for 2 decades, due to previous destruction and negligence.

Cóndor Blanco International, since the year 2007, is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), together with other local land owners. We are part of the Mawidakom group, which has been created in cooperation with the other local land owners in order to guarantee the accomplishment of the International Standards, promoting a socially, economically and environmentally responsible management of the forest.

The hydrography of Cóndor Blanco is based in a confluent of the High Trancura, which supply comes mainly from melting snow and a minimal amount of rain waters. It contains approximately 40 waterfalls, which can be seen from the accommodating area and can also be visited, in short expeditions, properly organized.

We are conscious of the impact waste can produce in our environment, and therefore incorporate proper management systems to maintain the least amount possible during food production, seminars, and all activities in Cóndor Blanco.

At Cóndor Blanco we believe that we must respect nature and all beings that inhabit it. We motivate our visitors to make a proper use of the available resources and to cooperate with the cleaning of the common areas. We only allow the use of biodegradable products as part of personal hygiene and detergents. We advocate the use of rechargeable batteries for electronic devices and promote awareness of energy consumed. This way, we prepare the reserve to be a sustainable ecosystem throughout time.

Accommodations

Tent

It is necessary that every participant in our programs bring with them their own tent, which must be adequate to the predominant climate in this region. At times it can be cold and rainy, reaching, during the summer, temperatures that may vary between 50ºF (10ºC) and 74ºF (23ºC). They must bring their own sleeping bag, which also has to cover the basic requirements for the climate above. There are limited areas where it is possible to camp in good conditions, and the use of camping areas are included in the program.

Geodesic Domes

Our visitors can accommodate themselves in small geodesic domes (approximately 59 sq. ft. – 18m2), with capacity to accommodate 2 people and children, if necessary, in a comfortable way. They have interior heating that make these rooms a welcoming place and ideal for a rest after an intense day of participation in the activities and programs. Previous reservation is available, at the time you make your registration to the programs. Their renting price is US$ 800.00 per week.

Infrastructure

Large Geodesic Domes

The Domes are light, inherently stable structures, built with steel and PVC covering. They incorporate a perfect structure in relation to weight and stability. Because of their omnitriangulated surface and spherical shape, they enclose the greatest volume with the least amount of surface area. They are designed to withstand extreme temperature, with internal heating, they create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The fabric with which they are constructed isolates the rain or the heat, making the learning experience inside them very comfortable for the participants.

Our installations currently include 3 large Convention Domes, constructed in accordance with the latest in security and technology. This allows us to give the seminars in a comfortable way, with capacity for 120 people each.

Teepees

With respect to the ancestral cultures of North America we have incorporated the use of Teepees, which are tents of conical structure, built with logs and special fabric. They are very resistant and provide great comfort to their inhabitants. They protect from the rain and the cold during the winter and are fresh during the summer. Due to their portability, they were a perfect structure for the use of nomad peoples in North America.

The uses of Teepees in the reserve are many, such as serving as a space for personal consults, made by a team of therapists, during the event; or as a space for workshops or seminars. There is also the Tipi of Fire, adapted for meetings around the fire, which provide an inviting space of harmony, joy and fellowship. We also offer teepees for accommodation.

Restaurant

All programs include complete food service for the participants during their stay. A welcoming place, where it is possible to sit next to the fire contemplating your experience and enjoy the relaxing moments, with new and old friends.

At Cóndor Blanco we provide a holistic menu that is healthy, ecological and respectful to all beings and inhabitants of the planet. For this reason, we suggest a vegetarian diet as part of a life style. All our foods are prepared, with focus on the use of natural products, fresh fruits, condiments and dry foods produced locally. Including an in house bakery.

Bookshop

Inside the bookshop it is possible to purchase Cóndor Blanco's books, recorded material, a collection of handmade artwork, essences, and many products produced from the natural resources right here on the beautiful mountain. We offer satellite internet and telephone services as well.
